I typically still check email, might even work an hour or so, and have actually dialed into conference calls poolside. I’m terrible. </p> <p>But for these two weeks I’m completely unhooked. The job I left is completely done, that job I’m starting is still over a week away. There is no email to check. No mad client to be nervous about. </p> <p>Really this is the most “free” I’ve probably been since I was a kid and it was actually hard for a couple days. I still wake up early and for a couple days I got twitchy because there was no email for me to check first thing. </p> <p>Today I bailed out and drove to Asheville by myself. I ate a burger so awesome but so bad for you that I’ll probably run 10 miles tonight to stop thinking about it. I walked around window shopping and looking at books. When it got too hot I stopped for wine. </p> <p>I actually like hanging out by myself sometimes. It’s as kooky and awesome as you would expect. The store is super small and they only carry all things Third Man. Oh and it’s all vinyl, there was one small rack of cd’s sort of hidden in the corner. It was completely chilled out, we were the only ones in the place for a while, and if you wanted to check something out there were turntables all around.
